Staying at the hostel was very special. It was the first time in my travel journey that I really felt at home. I was welcomed with a lot of kindness and warmth! The tasks are easy to carry out and the hosts are flexible and understanding people. I was able to participate in all the activities offered at the hostel during the period I volunteered, and I am leaving with a lot of gratitude for this experience. The kitties Madonna and Luz are such adorable sweethearts and they certainly contribute a lot to making the environment so pleasant and to give it a homey feel. I highly recommend the experience!

Volunteering at the hostel was an incredible experience! Léo and Schelly are very warm hosts and do everything to make sure volunteers can enjoy the city, offering flexible schedules and days off. I got rides with Léo, hostel guests and friends to visit amazing waterfalls in the region. The hostel is well located, near a market, a bakery, right near the square, where I could experience many city events. I worked here in a light and happy way! I loved taking the yoga classes! I cried with longing before even leaving. I wholeheartedly recommend this volunteer work!

This was my first volunteering experience and I have to say that it gave more than I expected! Both Leandro and Schelly were very welcoming with my dear Carol (volunteer) and with me; preparing joint meals, accompanying us on trails and also through their yoga classes 🧘🏻♂️. They managed to make me feel part of the Calango family to the point of not wanting to leave. the hostel Gràcies i obrigado.

Volunteering at the hostel was amazing! Leandro really is an incredible person, helpful in many ways, always willing to contribute, he gave me several rides when he could, chats and always gives tips on itineraries and what to do around the city. The tasks relate to cleaning, maintenance and organizing the hostel, washing the bed linens and organizing everything regarding guest reception. When there are Yoga activities, dancing and others we can participate for free. The kitties Luz and Madona are adorable, I’ll miss them. It was a great experience, I highly recommend it and I already want to go back!
