I really had a great time in Deshnok. Nandini and her family are very nice people. I learnt so much about the indian culture and Nandini is a great chef, i had great meals! Also, i got to see a lot of nice places in Deshnok and Bikaner. The work was easy, most of the time i helped Nandini in the kitchen. I can highly recommend a stay with them!

I had a wonderful time with Nandini and Babu! By the time I left I really felt like a part of the family. Every day I would help Nandini in the kitchen where she would teach me how to make traditional Indian dishes as well as use different ingredients to make holistic remedies. Babu really made an effort to take me on different activities like a the home safari, trips to the Karni Mata temples and museums, and to markets in local towns. We've even took a family weekend trip to Udaipur which was so much fun. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic view of India!

Like a member of the family! Babu and Nandini took great care of me (they made sure my room and food were just right for me -Nandini added less spice to my dish compared to theirs-, Babu picked me up at the station on arrival...). It's an absolutely ideal place to immerse yourself in the local and especially traditional culture. Nandini is a real chef! I've rarely eaten so well in my life! An encounter I'll never forget. Nandini and Babu are very curious to learn new things about outside cultures, just as they are eager to share their own.

This was an amazing experience overall! The tasks and job listing however is not accurate, the only job we did was dishes. Everything else listed we did get to experience but more in a cultural exchange way. We did help in the kitchen and learn lots of recipes, we did get to try to milk a cow one day, we did go on a the shelter safari, and we got to see lots of the town and learn about many of the temples we went to! We were able to read the book however there was not a garden there. There is a fee of $7 which is not listed, so it felt more as if I was paying for a cultural exchange program.

This was an amazing cultural experience! Our days included cooking meals, cleaning dishes and learning about the culture. We did not care for cows or camels, translate a book or help with a farm. However, we did get to go on a the shelter safari and Babu drove us around to see beautiful Temples. He is very knowledgeable and we learned so much! Nandini taught us so many wonderful recipes, how to wear a sari and a few dance moves. She is such a wonderful women and I loved spending time with her! This was such a unique experience, I would highly recommend just don't expect to be working with camels.
