I had the most wonderful experience at the school in Poptun. The teachers were welcoming and kind, the students were precious and respectful, and the family that hosted me made me feel loved and at home. The home cooked meals were delicious and they took to time to show me around their the school and include me in their family/friend gatherings. I felt appreciated and supported :) Thank you to all those I met during my stay that made this a truly memorable experience!!

For anyone interested in supporting children's education and growth, and helping to develop a wonderful school, this is an ideal placement. Although small, under the enthusiastic, committed, visionary leadership of Mishelle, Collegio Internacionale de Poptun is making a large, positive impact on the children fortunate to attend. Add to this the beautiful setting of the school, the delicious meals, and the warm welcome from everyone and you will be glad you chose this. I've enjoyed it so much that when the opportunity to extend my stay became possible I didn't hesitate to stay on.

I had the most wonderful experience volunteering in Poptún. Teaching the kids at the International school was so rewarding and I already miss them so much! Mishelle and her family really looked after me and I felt so immersed in the local culture. The meals they cooked were so good! 10/10 experience. Couldn't have asked for anything better for my first WorldPacker experience!

This was a wonderful experience for my first World Packers experience. I was hosted by a lovely family, worked with the kindest children you could ever meet, and ate delicious homemade food everyday! You cannot go wrong with this experience. I loved it so much, I was in tears leaving this beautiful school. You will love it!

I had a great time during my three weeks with Mishelle and the team at the school in Poptún. I felt very welcomed by the school and the students despite my intermediate level Spanish. The other volunteer and I were constantly invited to activities outside of school hours, even including joining the Independence Day parade and a trip to Flores to stay in their family hotel! The homestay was of fine quality and I enjoyed the 3 home cooked meals a day. I will note that the teaching is quite self directed - some experience or at least proactivity is recommended.
