The Experience

We are a family of four who emigrated to Portugal in 2022. Our land is very offgrid and very beautyful! We need a few hands to make life here more liveable. Todo: Seal our kitchen, building an outside bath, a natural pond and a yurt. For our wonderful animals (donkeys, horses, sheep, chickens etc) there is always something to do e.g. fences, new shelters, hay, repairs. We also welcome help with planting (expanding) our vegetable garden.

We both had a lovely time! The family were absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more welcoming! The work was very rewarding and accurate to what was agreed upon. The animals were also a massive bonus! We went on some fun adventures off the farm but you can only really leave with the family as it is very remote. We were well looked after! We look forward to coming back and see the project prosper!

We had a lovely time Nina and her family! They made us feel very comfortable and welcome ❤️ The land and animals are beautiful and so fun to be around! The work was rewarding, we helped with many jobs, including fencing, cleaning out the chickens, digging out foundations for the bathroom, planting trees and picking up lots of manure! We enjoyed working outdoors and watching all the animals interact. The daily life and work expected is very accurate to what is said on the Worldpackers description. The farm is very remote and there is currently no shower but building of this is underway! :)

I joined this host spontaneously and I couln't have felt more welcomed! Nina and Uwe are very nice people and they kind of took me in and I could join them for meals and also for free time activities. I even could visit a local festival with them and got to know their friends and neighbours. The amount of work is really fair and I had enough time to explore the beautiful nature around the farm, with their 2 lovely daughters and their dogs <3 <3. The animals live a good life on the farm and there's always a creature with paws and fur to cuddle I hope I can visit them again in the future!
