I wasn't quite sure to expect, going in, but Antonio and Paula have treated me like family from the moment I landed. Every single day was so much fun and my experience wouldn't be nearly as amazing as it has been without them. When it came time to create lessons, they were so very helpful and providing the framework for what needed to be taught that day. Between hiking, dancing on New Years, seeing the country, meeting family, and working with the kids, this has been an experience of a lifetime. A came here to make an impact on peoples lives, but I'm leaving with the impact they left on mine.

I absolutely loved living and teaching here! Antonio (Fabian) and his wife, Paula, are extremely hospitable, kind, and intelligent. I stayed in a nice room in their house with a few other international volunteers. We spent a lot of time together cooking, eating, exploring, teaching, going out, meeting Antonio's and Paula's family, etc. Teaching at the school was challenging for me (I've never taught a class before) but also rewarding and fun. The time commitment was also not too bad - the other volunteers and I could travel to fun destinations over the weekends. Gracias por todo!

Dear Niklas.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share moments full of happiness with you. You are a very relaxed, humble and respectful person. Although culturally our countries are totally different, that was not an obstacle to having a friendship as beautiful as the one we have, surely this friendship will last through time.
During these 6 weeks that you were with us in Cañar - Ecuador, your responsibility to teach our children and young people was very evident. Your patience and joy to teach was contagious and motivated our students to learn English. Thank you Niklas for giving your best every day of classes.
Niklas taught children from 6 to 8 years old on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. And adolescents from 13 to 16 years old on Saturdays from 08:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In our home, we have schedules for the use of the washing machine, to clean the house and to cook, Niklas executed each of the entrusted activities in the best way.
Dear friend, we are going to miss you for everything you shared with us. Your recipes (beans haha), the long conversations and anecdotes. Thank you for carrying out traditional activities of my country with us such as making empanadas, humitas, chaulafan and other typical foods. The dances, concerts, canelazos, and karaoke will be some of the memories we had with you.
If Niklas ever thinks of volunteering in your program, don't hesitate for a moment and enjoy the company of this great human being.
Thanks for everything friend, we miss you a lot.

Querido Niklas.
