A great experience at the school. Yat and his family are all extremely welcoming and friendly, we were welcomed warmly into the homestay. The teaching aspect of the project is great, the school is well structured and the volunteer tasks are clear. Volunteers also have the opportunity to share their ideas in the morning lesson plan with the teachers. The children are all enthusiastic and keen to learn which is rewarding and makes the experience all the more pleasant. Lunch and dinner was simple, breakfast not included maybe bring some snacks from the city.

This was my first time volunteering abroad, and I was really nervous about what to expect since it's out in the middle of a village. But the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcomed. You won't just enjoy your time teaching at the school you'll love being at the house, too. The family truly treats you like one of their own. Be prepared for authentic village living, which can have its challenges at times, but it is so worth it. Overall, I feel so lucky to have stayed with Yat and their family. I'm really going to miss being called their "Cambodian princess." Thank you so much, Yat!

Really glad I decided to volunteer with Yat in the school! This was my first volunteering experience and I had no teaching experience, so I honestly didn't know what to expect. But Yat was really welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the start. I had so much fun with the kids — singing, dancing, playing games and doing activities together. I’m definitely going to miss them! The other volunteers also made this experience even more memorable. We laughed, ate, helped each other and made so many good memories together. Definitely one of the best sidequests I've taken!!

Spending 3 weeks with Yat's family was truly life-changing. Teaching was a joy, the kids are eager to learn, remarkably warm, and full of social confidence despite any language barrier. You can easily contribute by bringing your teaching perspective and sharing it with local teachers. Yat's incredible family welcomed me into their daily routine, sharing delicious local food, karaoke nights, and rich cultural insights. I am so grateful for their kindness. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see real the school and make a positive impact in a rural area 🩷

I spent 2 weeks at Yat's home and teaching in his school. The atmosphere was incredible, warm and a huge cultural experience all together. I have had the chance to meet a big part of Yat's family and talk with locals. The teaching experience was amazing as well, we had 3 classes per working day, teaching 2 classes of small kids aged 4-8 and then one class with an older 14-18 year olds group. I would recommend volunteering here to everyone who wants an authentic experience where they can provide real value and gain a true understanding of the average rural Cambodian everyday lifestyle!
