Being a guest at Ana's family home turned out to be a heartwarming experience, where I felt like a part of her cat-filled family. The village of Alfeizerão is small and doesn't offer many activities, but São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré, and Peniche are easily reachable by car or bike. However, expect to spend most of your time in Ana's cat kingdom and her delightful vegetable gardens, which are a heavenly sight. Ana leads a sophisticated life, keeping her busy most of the time, so be prepared to be flexible and attentive to her needs, and, of course, never forget about the cats!

It was a very pleasant week with Ana! I had a lot of fun, there were many stories she told. There were several tours to very beautiful places with many stories. Her food is amazing. The tasks are simple to do, always with Ana's guidance. I hope to return soon, if it wasn't for another volunteer that I had already scheduled, I would have stayed longer.

Tiago is an excellent person.
Helpful, skillful, attentive, careful, practical, proactive, intelligent, hardworking...
I have nothing but praise for him.
The weeks he spent here were all very pleasant and productive.
And he will always be wellcome back, whenever he wants to.
I just hope to have the pleasure of his visit again.

Challenging experience

Ana replied

I don't know what you mean by your "challenging experience"...
I know it wasn't me who, without any prior notice, decided to change the departure date to the next day.
And, as the other volunteer was already here at home, and you were the one who made the mistake with the dates, I believe it is perfectly normal to tell you that you would have to sleep the unscheduled night in the living room, on a mattress on the floor, leaving the room where you were before for the volunteer who had just arrived.
What I don't think is perfectly normal was that you repeatedly sat at the table waiting for me and the other volunteer to put the food in front of you and that at the end of the meal you remained seated at the table, holding the computer or cell phone, while me and the other volunteer cleared the table, washed the dishes and tidied up the kitchen.
Not to mention the few times you give us the pleasure of your company for breakfast...

I keep saying: you're a nice and intelligent girl whom it's a pleasure to talk with, but I think you must learn what it's to be in community, collaborating for the common good.
And I still believe that this behavior of yours has to do with shyness and insecurity and that you will be able to improve that aspect of your personality.

I liked you.
I liked to be with you
I wich you a very good life.
And that may you discover many paths!
