The Experience

NAMASTE❤ I offer two free yoga classes per week and free entrance to my Dance Anarchy events. You would be staying in my house with your own room access to the rest of house. I have spare mountain bikes which you can borrow and am happy to take you on various tours of the Scottish Borders. I can also teach you how to use various tools safely. The work will be varied tasks mostly helping me with rebuilding renovating or even just handing my tools.

David was just lovely! Not much to say about this stay except that it was perfect.
But be aware if you have problems with sanitary facilities. The lavatory flush does not work properly but that wasn’t much of a problem to me! I loved the two dogs and I got my own room! Kitchen was always accessible, as was the washing machine.

Can really recommend! Thanks David!🫶🏻

The toilet flush didn't ever not work it was just slow to fill in one of the toilets. However the fill valve has been replaced and fills up now more quickly.

I had an amazing time staying with David. I felt so comfortable around him and at his place. David is a very kind person, has a great heart and listens to you, whenever you need a good advice. The yoga classes were great, something I was really looking forward to every week! You have to da lot around the garden and the house, so don't be afraid of getting work done ;). But that's what makes it so nice, seeing what you have achieved after a day of working is a great thing! Loved it in Peebles with David, Archie and Tyne, going to miss you three!

Amazing experience surrounded by nature!
I had a wonderful time volunteering here. We had a great team atmosphere and worked together really well. My main tasks included gardening, basic construction work, and helping with general cleaning and organization.
The location is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a rewarding Worldpackers experience!

I had a great time! DC is such a wonderful host and truly generous person. He picked me up in Edinburgh and took me out for dinner, showed me all around Peebles and to such beautiful places. I really enjoyed me time here and treasure it as my introduction to Scotland <3 (Just a few notes to be aware of, the house has a lot of unfinished projects going and the toilet is very difficult to flush, along with a few other little things. If you are sensitive to mess then this may not work so well for you) Thank you so much DC for hosting me and showing me such a great time in Peebles!

David is an incredibly kind, generous and caring host, and he really makes you feel welcome and at home. The work was varied and very manageable: I cut and sanded wood, painted the fences around the garden and the house, helped with cleaning the house and the yoga studio, as well as with everyday things like cooking and doing the dishes. Nothing ever felt stressful or overwhelming, and there was a really nice, relaxed atmosphere throughout my stay.

And then, of course, there are the dogs! They are incredibly sweet, gentle and affectionate. Thank you for everything, DC!
