The Experience

Hi! We have a 5ha block where the living is easy and quiet. You will need your own transport to come stay. We are keen to have people come to stay in return for whatever needs doing on our farmlet. It might be harvesting hazelnuts, weeding, planting, or pruning olive trees depending on the time of the year. There are two of us here, with one cat, and alpacas. You have your own room with a queensize bed, but the bathroom in the house is shared.

What an experience. Teena and Noel are the best. I had such an amazing week here. They are both so welcoming and friendly. From learning about black garlic to wood cutting you will definitely come away knowing more. The house is beautiful with a very comfortable bed, everything is as stated. Teena and Noel have a lot of knowledge not only about NZ and where to go but also about the rest of the world. Sunday family games day was best. I would recommend this experience to anyone, I had made memories that will last with me forever ❤️

Teena and Noël made us feel like family. One of the best volunteering places that I have experienced, they care about your welfare and are supportive throughout. They have extensive knowledge on New Zealand and can help you find the best spots to explore. They have a lovely home where you have your own room and a very comfy bed! Always making great meals from vegetables from their garden and you get a taste of their special black garlic. This was a home away from home and it was hard to say goodbye. I would recommend staying here 100%

Had such an amazing time on the farm! Teena and Noel were so welcoming and made me feel right at home. Got to learn about farming and gardening practices, how to drive a tractor and feed the alpacas! Gorgeous river swimming and beaches all around. Couldn't recommend this experience enough:)

One of the best experiences of my life. Home away from home, literally. This time with Teena and Noel let me learn so many things! About planting, how to drive a tractor, how to make salads from the orchard, how to play Quirkle. We had a great time sharing stories, food and movies. If you want to have a full experience and meet real interesting locals this is the place! Don't hesitate. I'm so greatful I end up here. I made forever memories :)
