The Experience

Handy all rounder needed to help us maintain a 10 acre block within walking distance to shops and train station. We are time poor and just need helping hand. We have a double bedroom with its own kitchenette and living space available for helper to enjoy. But traveler has to use the shower in the main house. We prefer fit and healthy people who are non smokers and non vapers. Building experience would be a plus as we have projects.

Had an amazing time staying with Lydia and Stu! The accom is awesome as you get your own private space with a comfy double bed, but everyone is so welcoming that you also end up spending time in the main house with them and the dogs too.
Daily tasks and projects are explained well, and I learned a lot about living more sustainably off the land. The tasks are not difficult, and there is plenty of opportunity to work independently once you know what you’re doing.
I really miss my old dog so was super happy to get to walk the dogs too! They’re all sweethearts. Miss you all!

I would highly recommend staying here! You get your own space and you are surrounded by lots of dogs, sheep, chickens and a really cute goat. The work is very fair and easygoing and the walk to town is short. We had a really nice stay, and the hosts were really friendly and welcoming.

Such a lovely farm! Lydia and Stu were great hosts, super kind and welcoming! There 4 dogs were absolute sweethearts and I will miss them!! Farm work was very flexible and easy to manage, and you have lots of your own space. The view from the property is amazing and super close to town as well! Would definitely recommend.

Working and staying at Lydia and Stu was a wonderful experience! They were beyond generous and they went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. The lodgings were spacious and the workload around the farm was interesting and easy to manage. I recommend this experience for people comfortable with general labour and have foundational knowledge in gardening and building as you work quite independently. Thank you so much for the amazing stay! I’ll miss my time with you and the pups. :)

Staying with Stu, Lydia, and the doggies was an absolute dream. Not only do you have your own space, but you also have a variety of activities to choose from, so you're never stuck doing the same thing every day. The property is stunning, and there's plenty to do in the area. Thank you guys—I miss you already!
