Also they took us to different places where we had the chance to know more about the local life, how people works day by day and obviously made us closer to the asian culture. Hopefully you also are satisfied with our contribution even when it was not too much due to YUAN is a new hostel. All of you guys are very kind and we wish the best for you and your projects.

The hostel is located in a smallcity so the locals aren't that used to seeing tourists, but they are mostly welcoming.Be aware that the work is basically cleaning the common areas and welcoming guests and that's nice to see that they're trying to build a community space that's open for everyone. However, there weren't many guests so if you're looking for a more touristy/party experience you might get bored. The hosts are happy to show you around the highlights of my experience was hiking, playing board games and watching animal videos with Audrey~she is an amazing translator thanks for everyt

Thank you for becoming our volunteer! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your time in Kluang. The city’s peaceful vibe and authentic local charm make it a unique experience, perfect for those seeking community over crowds. While it’s not as touristy, it offers a special chance to connect with locals and enjoy relaxed activities like hiking and game nights. We hope you can visit us again soon!

The host never communicated with respect toward others, which made all the environment very awkward and uncomfortable. We would have to get up at 7am to do chores while he sat down and demand orders. The place was nice actually, too bad there were bedbugs, in which he said we weren't cleaning properly. There are no proper doors in the dorms, that means there is never a really good flow of fresh air or a consistent A/C. The only good thing about all this, are the other amazing volunteer that I met here. After 4 days, we all decided to leave this place.

Miss Darincka come to our Hostel for volunteering service on actual date after she understands our workflow and policies by official conversation in Workpacker platform. Unfortunately she use our complimentary offer for meal & accommodation, after sightseeing in city and leave with other volunteer together.

Her review is untrue as she just put the negative reviews here to avoid us to give her negative reviews.

Since she left without doing any works for us, we decided to choose she no show in system to end this unnecessary and meaningless exchange...

The hosts seemed really nice at first, but after a couple of hours I saw how they really are. From the first moment I arrived they were talking bad about other (past) volunteers and a current one who had an accident and broke their sink. They continuously shamed him in front of everyone and just made the environment unwelcoming and uncomfortable. There was also police involved (because of the sink) and so the environment got even worse. After that the host seemed pissed off and I felt unsafe. Left after 2 days without saying anything, just sending a message (rude ik but it felt safest)

We are trying our best to forgive what Kai did to us and choose to comment on her works particularly as we always believe it is not a right manner to keep personal grudges and continue unnecessary fighting against each other.

Though we had dealing with many travellers and volunteers all this while, especially we also used to stay at other place as volunteer before we start this hostel, this is our first time to encounter such irrespectful and irresponsible volunteer like Kai, who still have the nerve to bad mouth her host who treated her free meals and 2 days accommodation in an air-conditional room even though she refused to do her task as a Media Content position and absconded suddenly while the manager still sleeping to recover from the chaos created by her.

In fact, all her complaints in her review were created by her and started from her.

In order to maintain our principle stated above, we decided to keep the true story private and we welcome those host who are interested to host Kai private message us so we may assist the host to make their decision.
