The Experience

Two years have passed since our farm-hostel opened its doors. We have welcomed more than 30 collaborators from various parts of the world and, along with them, we have built an oven, gardens, and a chicken coop. Thanks to the help of travelers, we continue improving. Now, we are launching a "Creative Residency" to beautify and empower our home. We are seeking Ingenious and creative Travelers to help us paint murals, create content, and decorate

The experience at Hostal la granja is really unique, it offers you a quiet space, surrounded by nature, fruit trees, vegetables, animals; it’s a little piece of paradise. The activities are really simple and enriching, they give you the opportunity to learn about crops, environmental care and respect for nature. Juan (the host) is an excellent human being, he is a person who transmits joy and tranquility, communication with him was always good, the treatment was kind and always willing to help, Hostal la granja is a place I have to return to!

My volunteering at Hostal the farm was calm and pleasant. Juan is a host with great energy, respectful, communicative and flexible. The routine is quiet: feeding the animals and cleaning the common areas. In addition, he proposes improvement projects on the farm to be carried out together and gives full freedom to help in the garden, composting or art and decoration, according to the volunteer's interests.
Since Juan is very open to ideas, it's the perfect place for someone who is creative, likes manual work and values autonomy, nature, authenticity, and local culture. I highly recommend!

I loved the experience!!! I would only recommend coming on tourist dates so that there are more people staying, otherwise you may spend a lot of time alone at the finca; besides that the finca is beautiful, the tasks are very fun and friendly, people feel like family and you will fall in love with the animals, muneca in particular!! the town is simple and very pretty, always bring cash

El Carmen is a nice place, close to several communities that can be visited. The place is safe and full of nature.
Every day we were assigned tasks and, since there were two people in charge, they sometimes had different objectives. At first we were told to manage our hours; we realized it was easier and clearer if we covered our hours in a single block. Their method of work consisted of sending photos at the start and end of each activity. The activities included cleaning tasks where we had to request bags and soap.
