The Experience

We are a Buddhist community and charity based in the gorgeous Dandenong Ranges. We have beautiful gardens and are surrounded by longer hikes through the national park and surrounds. The environment is very tranquil and restful, and is perfect for meditation and contemplation.

I'd 100% recommend this volunteer experience! I'd 100% recommend this volunteer experience! The Center is lovely and welcoming. My English wasn't the best, but everyone was patient and made me feel comfortable. The other volunteers were amazing, and we became like a little family. The tasks are simple and varied, from gardening and cleaning to helping in the kitchen. The schedule is relaxed, so you have plenty of free time to enjoy the place. The temple is surrounded by beautiful nature, and you can also join the Center classes, which I really recommend. I had a wonderful experience and hope you do too!

One of the best volunteering experiences I've ever had! the Center is beautiful, surrounded by stunning nature, a lovely garden, and wildlife. I even had the chance to see kangaroos and deer. Volunteers are also welcome to join the Center sessions and classes if they wish. The facilities are comfortable, the shared room was peaceful, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always delicious, healthy, and well prepared. Tasks include cleaning, gardening, and general temple maintenance. Although the work requires effort, it is absolutely worth it. I highly recommend this experience!

I had such a relaxing wholesome time here and met the most amazing people during my stay. The Center classes were so interesting. It was so nice to experience a slower pace of living and have time to reflect on everything. I'm so grateful to have stayed here. Thank you to everyone at Kmc for making my stay memorable! I would love to come back again one day :)

I write this review as I am still here, because I loved it so much that I extended my time. the Center has been such a fantastic experience. Nestled in an absolutely beautiful and remote area, it is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Being able to sit in on the lessons has been a true privilege. I've learned so much and it has given me teachings that I will carry with me forever. The people here are so lovely, from the other volunteers to the live-in residents. You feel welcomed immediately. I would come back here in a heartbeat!
