The hostel felt like home. It's a very nice place well located with good facilities. I met some amazing people, Maureen and the rest of the staff are so kind and have been very helpful whenever needed. The work is quite easy and I had plenty of time to explore puerto viejo and the surrounding area. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first volunteering experience !

To be honest I was somewhat disappointed with my experience at the hostel. The position itself was exactly as advertised, with clear instructions and expectations. However, the environment was not great. The staff were quite strict with the volunteers to a point where it felt overbearing and created a feeling of unease among the group. Additionally, the condition of the volunteer housing was not up to par in my opinion. I will say that management was open to feedback, and I do believe that they are taking measures to improve!

The hostel gave me the freedom to experiment, try new things, and most importantly — to be myself. I could offer a safe space to my students because I had one too. I felt empowered, trusted, seen… and that is the most beautiful gift. I was able to host women's circles and cacao ceremonies, and witnessing the magic of women coming together to heal and rise was unforgettable. The other volunteers became my sisters. Living and working in a fully female environment was deeply empowering — we supported each other, laughed, cried, and built a bond that goes beyond this place.

This was my first volunteering experience abroad and it was absolutely amazing! There was such a great community vibe with all the volunteers, which made my experience so special. The host made me feel comfortable and the tasks required were well respected. the hostel is such a nice hostel with great activities, and I got to meet some amazing women while being there! The hostel is very well located, super close to the beach! I would absolutely recommend this volunteering experience, especially if you're looking for a safe space for women with a nice community of empowering women.
