The Experience

Important Update: This volunteer opportunity is currently based in Huancayo, Peru. Join our NGO in protecting the beautiful Peruvian Andes by helping clean rivers, parks, streets, and natural areas. I had a wonderful time at Pachamama House! The hosts are really welcoming and made us feel at home, including us volunteers in their day to day life beyond the tasks that were expected of us. I had wonderful interactions with the locals and I could immeroace myself in the community, which is what I really wanted.

What you'll get out of this trip: • Authentic Mexican experience with the most welcoming hosts • Volunteer at local school Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2:30 to 5 or 5:30 with lots of time to explore • Delicious homemade breakfast and lunch included • Stunning rooftop views from the mountains to the city • Airport pickup and instant family vibes • Birthday surprise I will never forget • Left as an honorary Mexican whose family forgot to teach her Spanish • Gained a Mexican and Peruvian family • Do not overthink it, just book it • Not goodbye, but see you later Miss you all already!

A great place to meet new people from all over the world & help out with whatever ideas the hosts have for improving life in their local communities. I have volunteered for several places like this one & am always surprised by the wonderful people I meet. The family type of daily events, meals & discussions were great. The hosts are very flexible & so very helpful (the best!) You will get to see real culture here including the food, learning the language & how people here live their daily lives...not the people at the resorts...the families that make up this community. I'll be back! HUGS

Vero and Su were absolutely incredible. Their warmth, kindness, and the beautiful energy they created made all the difference, it's thanks to them that everything unfolded so positively for me. This was my very first solo experience, and I couldn't have chosen a better place to begin. Even in just two weeks, it had a deeper impact on me than I expected. I felt welcomed and supported from the start, and this experience truly helped me grow in confidence. The children are wonderful, so full of light, and I love them very much. I'm deeply grateful for everything. 🤍

This was absolutely one of the best experiences of my life! Sui and Vero are the most amazing and welcoming people ever. I showed up barely speaking any Spanish, but they were so patient and kind, teaching me more every single day. They're basically family now, and they made me love traveling even more. Not to mention, the food was amazing. This was also my first WorldPackers experience, and I'd recommend it to any other new travelers as well! I will miss them and the animals so much, and I can't wait to visit again ❤️
