We volunteered two weeks at this hostel on the hostel Island, Malaysia. Bern and his brother were very kind, giving us a 4-bed room just for us. Work was simple: cleaning small rooms and 4 bathrooms. We did our duties with commitment and gratitude. Location is excellent: local food outside, plus nearby laundry. We rented a motorbike to explore the island; asking locals for tips helps. Beaches are clean, people friendly, most speak English. the hostel's tranquility is unforgettable—ideal for rest, not partying. Thanks to the owners for welcoming us with kindness and respect.

I had an amazing time here!! The island is beautiful and the work asked of you is very reasonable. The hostel is right across the street from lots of delicious and affordable places to eat. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing island getaway.

I volunteered at Shopkot Hostel in the hostel Island through Worldpackers for over a month. The team was welcoming, the work (reception, changing bed linens, cleaning) was fair, and I felt part of the hostel. The atmosphere is social, and I met people from all over the world. Negative: the hostel is a very small island, and it can feel a bit boring after 2–3 days if you're not into slow island life. Overall, a good experience, especially for those who enjoy calm places and social hostels.

I had a great time at the hostel on the hostel! If you like slow pace island life, you will love it there. The host and team were very welcoming and kind :) My only criticism would be that it wasn't very social, but that's nobody's fault, there just weren't a lot of guests or other volunteers while I was there. (Due to the season/ramadan/etc.) Otherwise I had a great time! Thank you again!

I had the best time volunteering at this beautiful hostel. The host was super kind and understanding and was willing to help me navigate the Island. The Island itself is very beautiful and so are the people. I met a lot of travellers from all over the world and made many friends. I would 100 percent volunteer with the Hostel again.

Viollette was with us for almost a month, she's a fast learner and managed the hostel well. She's also independent and handle our in house well with manner and respect.
