We could not have been happier with our stay at Fuglestein!! Jon Anders and Generosa are some of the kindest, and most welcoming people we have ever met. This was our first experience volunteering on World Packers and we would change nothing about it. The whole family creates an atmosphere of joy and love. The surrounding nature is absolutely stunning, hiking, fishing, and going on drives with the family really showed us the beauty of Norway. Fuglestein will always hold a special place in our hearts, we will be back. We love you all!

It was a lovely experience to stay here. The whole family – including the grandparents and Jon Anders' brother– is kind and very open-minded and will help you with whatever you need. The workload was quite light, in the beginning the tasks were a bit repetitive but later on that changed to a lot more variety. The nature around the farm is breathtaking. However it's better to bring a car or stay with at least one other volunteer who has a car because otherwise you're very inflexible and it can get a bit lonely. I met a fellow traveler, which was nice. Thanks for the great experience 😊

My stay at Fuglestein Fruktgard was a very lovely experience. Generosa and Jon Anders are both very kind and friendly people. They always take care of your wellbeing, may it be offering little trips or invite you for a barbeque. Sometimes a working day can be very simple and mundane, but thats just the nature of working at a farm. Other days were very different and fun. If you dont have a car, it is a bit isolated, since you cant really go anywhere by foot. Either way, I really enjoyed the beautiful nature their place has to offer. Im forever grateful for their hospitality :)

We had here a wonderful time :) The working hours were well regulated & relaxed – we worked during the week, weekends were off. Since we were there in winter, the task was mostly labeling bottles. The host family was very welcoming. We went grocery shopping together and could choose our own food. We stayed in a separate house, which was great, but the farm is quite remote. I would recommend going with a friend/ by car/ when other volunteers are there. The landscape is beautiful & perfect for hiking & in summer also for swimming. Overall, a great place for a work experience close to nature.

I had a very good time at the farm. I learned a lot and was able to work on many different tasks, which made it not feel boring. The family is super nice, welcoming and easy to talk to. Not to forget the nature is amazing. I would recommend this job!
But keep in mind that besides beautiful hikes nearby, there is not much to do in free time. You will live separate from the host and it could definitely get boring if you can't keep yourself busy or have good company. I was lucky, because one of the other volunteers had a car so we could see quite a lot from the area. Thank you fugelstein:))

The whole family is kind, polite, respectful, generous, and open-minded. Moreover, I got to know a lot about Norwegian culture. The tasks were always varied, and lunch was usually cooked by the volunteers — I have to admit that my cooking skills have improved significantly. The farm is located in the countryside, surrounded by breathtaking nature and fjords. The volunteers share their own house, which is not the cleanest — but for me, it was perfect!

Thank you, Generosa and Jon Anders, for this unforgettable and amazing experience. I will miss eating lunch together and having a nice chat!

i spent a very nice month with Generosa and Jon Anders. The farm is remote but the landscapes are wonderful: you are surrounded by fjords, you can take some walks in the forest, fishing, go mushrooming or reach some very beautiful lakes. It was a wonderful experience, the tasks were easy, almost every day different: labeling juice bottles, tying apple trees, making jellies, picking apples, cooking and working hours were always respected. We were able to taste both the juices and the jellies and Generosa cooked us some typical Norwegian dishes and sometimes took us around the area after work:)

We felt totally at home with Generosa, Jon anders, Arnfinn and Gullborg. The whole family was lovely and the property was beautiful. Think of this more of a retreat than volunteering. Learning about nature and apple juice/jelly/cider production was so neat. Very wholesome experience, would totally recommend. As others have stated, there's no way to leave the farm unless you walk to the near by villages (no amenities) or ask someone for a ride. We stayed pretty close to the farm and loved it, but if you don't like nature you may feel isolated. Overall great experience and we miss them!

We've just finished this incredible experience! It consisted on helping the family in some tasks such as painting, taking care of apple trees, etc. The surroundings are just amazing, placed in the middle of Norwegian fjords, mountains and wild nature. It is far from main cities and poor connections. But not a problem at all if you like nature. The whole family are just so nice people, we felt really comfortable. Thanks to Generosa and Jon anders, wish you the best. And special mention to Gullborg for helping us and being so nice. First time using Worldpackers and it's so worth it ☺️
