The Experience

Hello everyone! 😊 My name is Gokhan — you can call me Gogo! I’m originally from Turkey and have been living in France for over 12 years. After many years in the corporate world, as ex-banker, I decided to change paths in 2022 to follow a true passion: winemaking. If you wanna take part in an adventure in the vineyard , with a cozy accommodation, shared meal in a peaceful environment, I’d be happy to welcome you to Château Lacarel! Gokhan

This was our second time visiting the winery, and I have to say it was a real pleasure spending time with Esra and Gogo again. They have a beautiful family, and as always, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. We had the chance to experience the 2026 harvest—it was fantastic and something I truly enjoyed—and we met so many incredibly kind people. We are so grateful for this opportunity and wish them nothing but the best with their beautiful project, the winery. Sending a huge hug; you will always be in our hearts. We love you!

Great experience! Gogo and Esra were really friendly and welcoming. The place is beautiful and all the family is really kind :) In the winery you have a lot of responsibilities but also a lot of freedom and peace. If you like wine this experience is for you! I learned a lot about winemaking, it was really fun.

It was a great experience, Gokhan, Esra, Ouzo and Sasha, we're very friendly, we enjoyed the stay, it's hard work, you need to work the vines and do the house tasks, but at the end of the day, you really enjoy the experience.

I felt at home at the winery. Meeting Gokhan, Esra, and their friends from different parts of the world was a deeply enriching and emotional multicultural experience. Their life project inspired me so much that I wanted to help boost their wine brand on social media, as I truly enjoy supporting new ventures. Giving love to Ouzo and Sacha was the best part. Helping with daily tasks and discovering our hidden culinary side was amazing. Thank you so much, we hope to return and live this beautiful experience again, 100% recommended. Truly unforgettable stay with amazing people and vibes. :)

We couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience—it exceeded all expectations! Our host, Gokhan, was super friendly, funny and always made sure we felt comfortable. We shared meaningful conversations we'll never forget. The tasks were easy, well explained and hours fully respected. His wife, Esra, was so kind and warm, making us feel completely at home! Their dog Ouzo and cat Sasha added the cutest touch—Ouzo always asking for pets and Sasha waking us up every morning! We'll miss you all and can't wait to meet again—for more wine, more Quantanamo and MORE TZATZIKI!
