I enjoyed my short yet meaningful time here at the hostel!! i unfortunately had to leave early due to a family emergency and they were very understanding. i was an activities leader and it basically was just getting to have fun with the guests, being social in and around the hostel, and creating a welcoming environment so definitely lots of fun. the week i was here there was a bit of an understaffing issue so the work did feel slightly heavier at times which can happen but overall wasn't bad at all. i think the volunteer room could use sprucing up too. kayo u were awesome!!! i recommend🫶🏼

My experience at the hostel was amazing! They have the BEST hosts ever Landim and Kayo! They really know how to make you feel at home and welcomed at all times! The volunteers and staff turn into one big family 🩷 The guests turn into great friends and the hostel activities are so fun & free! You'll have the best time of your life and you won't want to leave 🥹 10/10 the hostel! 🤘🏻 Thank you the hostel! ✨

My time at the hostel was cut half short with no warning or communication and during one of the busiest times of the year in Rio (carnaval). I wasn't given any valid reason as to why I had to leave and had absolutely no problems or bad feedback from anyone. I later learned this is a recurring thing, with the manager and other volunteers are super on edge because of it. Also the AC unit in the volunteer room seems to have a problem of getting a lot of people sick as well. Other then the manager, Juan, I had the best experience with the staff, guests and the other volunteers!

Whoever wants to experience the best time of their life while truly feeling like part of a hostel family, the hostel is the place. From day one, I felt welcomed, trusted, and included, not just as a volunteer, but as part of something special. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience and especially want to thank Juan for making it all possible. The people at the hostel, both guests and staff, are truly one of a kind. I've never laughed so much, connected so deeply, or had so much fun in such a short time. It honestly was the best time of my life, and I'll carry these memories with me forever.❤️

I had the best time volunteering at the hostel! The “shifts” were not really like work, just having fun with the other volunteers and guests! The location can't be beat, 2min walk from the best beach in Rio! The hostel vibe is so fun and social and there's lots of free time to relax and explore. Juan the experience coordinator who is in charge of all the volunteers is the best he is so kind and accommodating :) The only downside is the condition of the volunteer dorms which has been brought to management's attention so hopefully that will be fixed soon. Thanks for the amazing experience!
