The Experience

A small farm in a beautiful location! Our farm and home probably date back to pre 1660's, with many additions since. It has been left to go wild for the last 40 years. The river has otters, seals, beavers, salmon, sea trout, and sea bass. With buzzards and owls overhead. There are deer in the surrounding woodland. If you want to help and improve a sustainable way of life, come and help us with an open heart. All levels of help are needed.

My experience on the farm was very enriching because I learned a lot of things. For example, I learned to eat healthier, and being in contact with nature makes you feel mentally calmer. I also practiced English with my colleagues, and most importantly, I take with me great friendships that I made. Thank you very much, Jonathan, for allowing me to get to know your farm.

My time at the farm was great and I learned a lot of handy new skills. Jonathan is a great teacher and host. The tasks vary in difficulty and if you are not comfortable doing a certain thing there is always something else to do. The meals were really great. Everyday 2 people cook lunch for everyone which we all eat together. And it's a great way to experience different cultures by eating. Overall I had a really great time and I'm sure I will find myself back in Devon in the future.

I am truly grateful for this month on the Jonathan's farm. I did meet people from different countries, I had an experience rural life, and I was also able to improve my English. I am grateful to Jonathan and all the friends who were with me during this time. La Berega!

I think Jonatan could only change the work schedule, giving people more time to get to know the place and have more time during the week, since we dedicate ourselves 100% to the farm, working 7 hours a day. It ends up straying a little from the worldpackers proposal, which is “volunteering”. Other than that, my experience was incredible, I had a very deep internal and external immersion, the place is beautiful, my room was comfortable and it was only for women. I met people from 8 different countries. I practiced English and Spanish. I thank Jonatan for the opportunity.

The experience was amazing; I met wonderful people and improved my English by speaking it all the time. While some parts of the house need improvement, I understand these things take time and resources. With teamwork and effort, everything runs smoothly. I'm very grateful for the memories, laughter, and the opportunity. Jonathan was incredibly kind, and I hope to see him again. Being on the farm was a dream I'll never forget. If you work here, please take care of Baby and do your best. My first volunteering experience was truly wonderful. Thank you, Jonathan!
