The Experience

We welcome volunteers who have a genuine and sincere interest in developing on the spiritual path. Offering service in this way is far more than a convenient lodging, we invite volunteers to live, work, study, practice and meditate with us and to apply compassionate mindfulness, following the Buddhist teachings during their stay. We encourage our volunteers to make the best use of this opportunity and attend all classes, pujas and events.

My experience at the Center was truely phenomenal. I had the great honor to participate in 2 retreats, held by a nepalese and a belgian monk. The retreats were very insightful and inspiring for me. We were taught about the Dharma and fundamental aspects of Buddhism. Having love and compassion for other people is something that really stuck with me. The team at the Center is hard working and it's beautiful to see how every volunteer deeply cares about the center. I made friendships and connections that last a lifetime and I'm already very excited to come back to the center to help. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

I had a really nice time at the Center! Everyone is really nice and respectful. I love the area and the big garden, its amazing. The facilities were great as well and I really enjoyed my time! This place does need a lot of work though so you can easily oversee the beauty that surrounds you because you're so busy with the work. The work was mostly simple and fun though and it was great working with the other volunteers as well! I stayed for a little over two weeks and would recommend that time as well. Definitely give it a visit :)

I really enjoyed my time at the peaceful the Center. It's a cozy place surrounded by beautiful nature and Colville is a cute and creative small town. There are good facilities and I especially enjoyed my time with the other volunteers :) During my stay there was a retreat, and volunteers were expected to attend many teachings and meditations. It was a special way to learn about Buddhism, though sometimes a bit intense for beginners. Outside the retrait, the center is quiet and calm, and I occasionally felt unsure about my tasks. But overall, a great experience I wouldn't want to miss.

My best volunteering experience so far and by far.
The place is so beautiful with great energies.
I got to stay in my own cozy little hut at the back of the garden which I enjoyed a lot.
Tasks would varyใ€from gardeningใ€making flowers arrangementsใ€lawnใ€laundryใ€making/cleaning the rooms for guestsใ€paintingใ€helping with retreat organisation...
I usually did more than 4h a dayใ€by choiceใ€because the tasks didn't feel like workingใ€and the place is so nice it felt uplifting to be part of making it run.
Everyone was very niceใ€from managerใ€director and other volunteers.
A little heaven for the soul ๐Ÿ™

I had such an amazing and heart opening experience at the Center! It is a truly special place with special people. I very much enjoyed helping out around the center while learning about Buddhism. This place felt like home from day one, thank you so much Eleni for having me! I cannot recommend the Center enough if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place, and if you are ready to take care of this place like it will care for you. Big love the Center, I hope to be back someday!
