This was my first volunteer experience and it was amazing. Tiago is an incredible host and I loved all the other volunteers. They made me feel like I was their younger brother. The guests were super nice too. They made travelling so much fun and I definetly know where my home in Salvador is

The place very nice, close to the beach and cultural places. Voluntariado time were very fair and very flexible with work time. I shared with very nice people and shared experiences around the town and lots of joy at home time. Nice and relaxed.

The mattress was almost nonexistent and the heat inside made it impossible to sleep. When we tried to make the fan reach top beds by putting it on the chair, the owner was extremely rude, not caring about the heat and our health but only about 230 R$ if someone breaks the fan,and eventually said ‘it’s my hostel,my rules,go find a place with AC’. The place is in terrible condition: cockroaches everywhere, lizard in the wardrobe, soap not allowed in bathrooms. When a guest reported bad bugs, the owner came to attack her for making things up.So much more to say,but not enough space here.ihavepicsaswell

KKKKKK EXTREMELY MALICIOUS COMMENT, SHE VOLUNTEERED WITH ANOTHER FRIEND, MIRJANA, NO DESIRE FOR THE TASKS, SELFISH WITH THE FAN BECAUSE THEY WANTED THE WIND ONLY FOR THEM, THEY HAVE TO STAY IN A HOTEL BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT OF THE HOSTEL VIBE. PRINCESSES WHO WANT TO VOLUNTEER WITHOUT ENTHUSIASM JUST TO AVOID PAYING FOR LODGING. AND I STILL WANTED TO JUDGE THEM WELL TO NOT HARM, BUT THE REALITY IS THIS: TERRIBLE VOLUNTEERS, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BARRA MAR IS SIMPLE BUT VERY CLEAN AND I AM DEMANDING OF CLEANLINESS.

Unfortunately this isn't experience I would recommend. The hostel is in very poor condition, the beds are extremely uncomfortable and shake with every movement. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, only a fan that doesn't reach all the beds. There are cockroaches everywhere in the kitchen. There is no soap in dispensers in bathrooms. We saw bedbugs on the sofa in the common area. The host was unpleasant in communication and didn't care about volunteers. On the other hand, volunteers were amazing, as well as the guests, we had really good time together.

The hostel is in a great location for enjoying Salvador's lifestyle. The guy who welcomed me at the hostel was very kind, explained everything to me, and made me feel at home. Overall, it was a good volunteering experience here. I'm glad I had the opportunity
