The Experience

Do you want to help us out with projects on a biologic dynamic farm? There is a lot of different tasks to do at the farm! In the summer we are mostly picking the fruits, sometimes we weed or do other tasks inbetween of the picking. In the spring and autumn there are other tasks: building, weeding, planting, seeding, pruning etc.

Willemien and her farm were an unforgettable experience! The work is satisfying, varied, well explained, active--but not straining, split up with breaks, and always on schedule. Tools, boots, and even rain gear was provided.

The private caravans were cozy, and there was lots of common hangout space, though it got chilly in the October mornings/evenings. It was so nice to be provided with bikes, allowing us to bike for groceries, or tour around the surrounding small villages. Traveling to a bigger city like Utrecht or Amsterdam on weekends is possible, but a bit of a journey.

Willamien is a kind, organized, and approachable; best host we have stayed with by far. We were greeted warmly on arrival to the farm, shown the ins and outs of the property, and expectations of staying there. There was hangout space with tables, chairs, and sofas inside a greenhouse where we enjoyed sharing meals, playing cards, and having good conversation with other volunteers. We highly recommend this volunteer opportunity for anyone wanting structured work days, comradery, cycling country roads, and meeting new friends. Thank you for everything Willamien!

What made our stay at the farm truly special was the people. Wilhelmin (and her cat!) was a big part of that, always making sure we had a good time and showing a genuine interest in getting to know the volunteers and learning about our different cultures.

The work was fair and relatively easy, and breaks and days off were well respected. The camping lifestyle might take a few days to get used to if you're not used to it, but the friendly atmosphere and the people make the experience well worth it.

It was my best experience on an organic farm. I learned a lot about the management of berries, such as biological pest control and harvesting. The diversity of volunteers that arrived at the farm allowed me to improve my English skills, and I made good friends. There are beautiful places, like lakes, farms, and a river, close to the farm that we visited. Willemien is a good leader and a kind person. She always cares about the volunteers and organizes social events.

This was an amazing experience! The daily routine was pretty chill, and I genuinely enjoyed working outside and feeling connected to nature. The host was incredibly responsive, understanding, and kind to everyone. We often had small get-togethers, shared our meals, and made great memories as a group. If you are looking for a place to feel truly welcomed and want to meet international travelers, this is the perfect spot!
