The Experience

Hello and welcome! 👋 I live in a large, charming house 🏡 nestled in a small hamlet in the beautiful French countryside 🌾 — just 90 km east of Lyon and not far from the Alps 🗻. Geneva 🇨🇭 is only 1.5 hours away by car 🚗, so it's peaceful yet well-connected.

Anne has been one of the most sweetest hosts I've ever had. She is very kind & has this very relaxing calm energy to her. I had a super peaceful time here. Her home is simple & cosy which I adore. I highly recommend this place for if you're looking to get into gardening. She reminds me of my great aunt a lot. Please help her as much as you can she is honestly the best.

We had an amazing time at Anne's place. We learnt so much about sustainability, local produce, and living from the land. At every meal we had something beautiful from Anne's garden; whether it be tomatoes, beans, zucchini, herbs, salad leaves, you name it! It was amazing to share stories (in French!) and spend time together cooking and eating food from right outside. Anne is so welcoming and generous, we met some of her friends and the local people in the village. We felt completely immersed in the life there. It was so peaceful and rewarding and every day was different. 100% recommend!!

We spent two brilliant weeks at Anne's place! The routine was great: pleasant work in the morning (around the house and garden) followed by a delicious homegrown lunch, and then the afternoons free to explore the area on bikes, visit swimming spots, pop into the local school to teach English, and receive lessons in French from the 8 year old neighbour. Anne made us feel entirely comfortable; we shared wonderful conversations in French and English over meals, played musical instruments together, and learned about living sustainably. It truly was like a home away from home. Thank you Anne!

I had a wonderful stay with Anne, couldn't be more grateful for my experience. I immediately felt welcomed into the family and was able to practice my French, learn more about gardening and sustainability, as well as meet locals and enjoy the wonderful surrounding nature. We even played music together with some of her many instruments. Anne is very kind and we'd always have fun and interesting conversations at meals. Thank you so so much, I miss it already!!

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and it was everything I could have asked for. Anne welcomed us and made us feel at home from the very first moment we arrived and I felt very comfortable at all times. The working hours were always respected, and there were many different things to do, from taking care of the garden, repairing and painting in the house to cooking and making jams. Anne was always there to patiently explain anything that wasn't clear. I learned a lot about living more naturally alongside nature and in harmony with it. This was truly wonderful experience.
