I recommend staying with Eduardo, a great man with a great heart and lots of projects to help him with. He speaks good English and is willing to teach you a lot about the island. The location has the best view of town and amazing sunsets. This is not a place for people who need a lot of comfort but want to connect with nature and the people instead. Obrigado por tudo Eduardo!

I had an absolutly wonderful time with Eduardo. He knew so much about the iland, the people and their traditions. Through him I got to meet so many inspiring individuals and the nature around Sáo Miguel. He was always understanding and flexible when it came to a workshedual so we could make use of our free time exploring new places. The grounds need a lot more work to get back into shape but I loved beeing part of that journey. For anyone looking to find tranquility and a very well informed host I can absolutly reccomend going to help Eduardo for a bit :)

Eduardo is an amazing host and knows a lot about the island and its people. The work mainly consists of gardening/working in greenery and there's plenty of time to go and explore the island before or after your shift.

There's a lot of fun things to do both in Maia and the rest of the island. My brother and I really enjoyed this trip.

I had a great time at Eduardos House, I got to know really nice people. The house is not okay, it's a ruine. It's unresponsible to let people live there. It has a half broken roof and after some wind there are laying new tiles in your room. Bringing your own tent and staying outside, he could build a compost toilet and you have your own gas thing to cook outside, I can recommend this experience. You should not have high living expectations. The communication with Eduardo was not very good, I tried to guess what he wants, but sometimes he would be grumpy but not telling you what to change.

I have no words to explain the magic that Eduardo and the island have. From the first moment, he made me feel at home. I learned a lot about the island, and he took us to the most spectacular places. I recommend to everyone that they go with him as a volunteer; he really needs a lot of help with his house "La Quinta" and he is a very grateful and kind person. Thank you, Eduardo, for this beautiful trip, I will be back ✨
