I came back to volunteer at the host, because I had so much fun the first time :) The organisation has improved and besides that, it was good to be back with the chefs and help out. It trully is a fun experience and you will learn a lot. I will miss this place!

I had such a great experience volunteering at the host. From the first day, I felt welcomed and part of the team. The atmosphere is friendly, the work is well organized, and the tasks are fair and manageable. I also had plenty of time to explore Antigua, meet amazing people from around the world, and enjoy the local culture. It was the perfect balance between volunteering and traveling. I'm really grateful for everything I learned and for the connections I made during my stay. I would definitely recommend the host to anyone looking for a fun, supportive, and memorable volunteer experi

My partner and I had an amazing 2 weeks at the host. You will either be translating a class and washing up, or flyering in town. Shifts are either over lunch or dinner hours. The included lunches were amazing and you eat them with the other volunteers and chefs. We also got dinners after a class if there was extra food left over.
The volunteer accommodation was very clean. and the beds all had their own power outlet and curtain. They had lockers for valuables but the main door to the dorm room doesn't have a lock.

Great experience getting involved with the team of local people running an authentic the host class. Work load was very manageable especially because it was shared between my wife and I. Translating was a challenge at times due my very limited Spanish but we made it work and it was good fun. The hostel accommodation is good bathrooms always clean, although kitchen equipment and processes at the hostel could be improved. The host was always kind and helpful. I would recommend this opportunity.

We really enjoyed our time at the host! The cooks were amazing, very welcoming and made our time memorable. Our host was always friendly, responsive and helpful. The work was enjoyable, hours fair and we were very appreciative to have been able to plan our days off to complete the Fuego hike. The hostel is simple but comfortable, with basic facilities. There is some room for improvement but it is clear that the hosts are actively trying to improve the volunteer experience. Overall, we loved our time volunteering and would recommend it!

I really enjoyed my stay in Antigua at the host. Everything was exactly as agreed beforehand, and the work itself was fun while also helping me to improve my Spanish. Working with Cindy and Beatrix was always a great experience! They were both wonderful to work with. The hostel where I stayed was also a really nice place, and the plane decoration is super cool and unique! The bed was comfortable with curtain. The only downside was the hostel kitchen which was dirty. A lot of time the kitchen equipment was unclean or missing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience!

Overall positive experience with the host! Hosts are kind and reachable, it was a pleasure working with Cindy & other volunteers! Tasks include translating among other cleaning tasks. When no classes arrived, we deep cleaned or brought advertisements around town. Volunteers are responsible for dishes after the guests cook and eat. All this to say, there is more than translation involved, but nothing too challenging! On average we worked 10-3 or 4-9, meals were generous, and accommodation was basic but fair. Great to practice spanish, connect with locals & culture, and meet other travelers!

The host was a beautiful volunteering experience! Everyone at the host was incredibly welcoming and friendly. A great way to engage with the local community if you wish to and learn about their culture through food. The accommodation although basic provides everything you need!

My experience at the host was a good one. I helped by translating (twice) during classes, washing dishes, setting up the dining and kitchen tables, taking photos/videos, and once distributing flyers to hotels and cafés. The tasks were simple and manageable, and I enjoyed being part of the team behind the scenes. The chefs were sweet and welcoming, and the owner was understanding and easy to communicate with. The dorm is okay, better than older reviews, and comfortable enough for backpackers. Overall, it was a warm and positive experience. Gracias!

I had a great experience in the host and have only nice things to say about the host. Sindy, Beatriz and Pamela are lovely people. The job is translating the classes and washing dishes. The only downside is the hostel you sleep (Lemon Tree). They have other companies sharing the space and seems like you live inside a food court. The call center employees make so much noise that is hard to sleep. There is also a very inconvenient permanent volunteer at the hostel the administration insists on keeping there besides all the problems. The room is nice tho. I recommend this experience!
