The Experience

The farm is located in Cutrofiano, in the heart of Salento, producing extra virgin olive oil and ancient varieties of wheat, barley and spelt. The farm has 8 hectares of Leccino, about 1600 plants and 3 hectares of cereals/legumes. The work in olive growing begins with harvesting from October to December, continues with pruning from January to June and ends with suckering between August and September.

I had an amazing experience volunteering Giuseppe organic farm for a month. From the very beginning, he made me feel at home. And it truly felt like a home away from home. We cooked together share meals, and had great conversation, which made the whole experience very personal and welcoming.

I learned a lot about organic farming during my stay. It was rewarding to eat what we grew and harvested ourselves- it really have me deeper appreciation for the work behind food. The experience felt authentic and hands on.

The location is another big highlight. There are great beaches nearby. 🤌

Our time at the farm was wonderful. Giuseppe is a great person; he made us feel at home, invited us to different activities, and we spent very pleasant moments together. The food is delicious and the house is a cozy place. Thank you, Giuseppe, for the cauliflower pâté and for all the delicious recipes we tried. We will come back. Greetings

We loved our experience. Giuseppe is a wonderful person, always attentive to make sure we were comfortable. We truly appreciated his sustainable lifestyle and the way he lives. He taught us about the culture of southern Italy, the local products they prepare, and the dishes he cooks. He also invited us to several family and friends' gatherings, where we were able to experience even more of the local culture. He is also an excellent cook and prepared the most delicious vegetarian food we have ever eaten. We highly recommend doing this volunteer. All the best! Thank you for everything All the

I'm so grateful for the time I spent here and for all the people I got to meet. I came for my first volunteering experience not really knowing what to expect, and somehow by the end it felt like I was leaving family. I learned so much, ate some of the best food, spent days at the sea and had so many conversations and random little moments that I’ll remember for a long time. It's a very go-with-the-flow kind of place, so be open to asking questions, getting involved and seeing where the day takes you.I arrived shy and left capable and confident.Saying goodbye was hard, thank you for everything

Volunteering in the farm was a positive experience! Despite Giuseppe being quite absent during the stay and the area being very car-dependable, the staff were really kind and welcoming. I was the only volunteer and the staff helped me make Italian friends🥰 The work during low season was very random(moving twigs, sweeping the floor, weeding) and sometimes a bit unclear with the hours but never over time. Be aware that lunch and dinner usually eaten together in case that's new for you😅
