Coco was an amazing volunteer :) She bought really good vibes, fresh energy and laughter. Working with her was very satisfying, she's a great problem solver, precise and independent. She is a talented photographer and she had great ideas for content creation and for improving our place in general. Totally recommended and always welcomed to stay in our nature sanctuary if there's another opportunity. Tupananchiskama Coco

Irwin and his family are very kind. Tasks are pretty easy most of the time. Hours can sometimes be longer than expected, that being said, still plenty of time to chill out and explore the area. You can meet many people travelling through, and there are usually more than 1 volunteer. Overall great experience and worth it if you’re travelling throughthe reserve.

We had an amazing time at Mandorthanks to the host Irwin and the other volunteers we were working with. The room we stayed in was one of the nicest we've had in all of our volunteering opportunities and the shower is actually hot!! There was a variety of work for us even as non Spanish speakers. Our tasks included maintenence, repair work and various cleaning jobs, but if you speak Spanish then you'll have a chance to work the kiosk and interact with other travellers hiking past. I'd reccomendthe reserve to anyone who wants to be close to Machu Pichhu and have other volunteers to interact with.

I want to start by saying I did not ask enough questions during our video chat interview. I was just so excited about volunteering in another country for the first time so that was my fault. Erwin told me during the interview while I was still in my own country that he only asks Americans to bring technology because it's cheaper here than in Peru. I didn't like that and knew that wasn't true but brought him a tripod anyways. When I gave him the tripod he acted surprised like he didn't ask for that. Lastly, Erwin had a volunteer speak with me about an issue instead of himself.

I mentioned it in the previous review, the reserve is not only a volunteer experience, it is a whole cultural immersion that takes you on a journey of a lot of learning, being able to contribute to the country's best nature reserve is a great honor and a growth that I highly recommend. Many greetings to Erwin's family and thanks to Erwin for the incredible hospitality, they made me feel at home, without a doubt I will not forget the good conversations and the lovely community that lives in the reserve.
