The Experience

Yamay is a name that means “to be well” in Mapuche. A space where visitors help us take care of nature and invited experts share their knowledge about all the techniques that help us care for our habitat. We present Yamay as a place where visitors find themselves between the comfort offered by modern tourist centers and the slow pace of rural towns.

I really enjoyed my stay atthe lodge. I feel I really improved my Spanish. I learned some new skills. The stay is very relaxed and the tasks were completed at a relaxed pace. I highly reccomend

My experience atthe lodge was absolutely beautiful. The place was so calm, the garden packed with fruit trees and vegetables, the only sound was the wind, the birds and the baby cow Cocó. Manuel was the best host you can imagine, welcoming and very patient with my Spanish. We only spoke Spanish together, and I truly feel like I improved especially in terms of understanding. We ate meals together, Manuel cooked (very delicious food!!) and I did the dishes. My tasks very easy and few, and I had plenty of time to enjoy the surrounding nature and bike to the pueblo nearby. Thank you, Manuel!

What an awesome few days inthe lodge, and an amazing way to kick off our Argentinian adventure! We learned a lot about traditional mud building practices, spent some great quality time with the staff and other guests, and got to spend time in a beautiful and quiet place, a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and self-reflect! Highly recommended :) Marcelo and his team were incredibly generous, welcoming, and communicative.
