This was such an amazing overall experience that I'm so grateful for. Living simply in such a beautiful, remote place while getting hands-on experience with the host turtle conservation was awesome. The late nigh patrols (every night) can be physically demanding, but also very peaceful and rewarding. I was able to meet people from all over the world as well as practice my not-so-great spanish with some of the locals involved in the project. Everyone was super welcoming and incredibly patient. I felt safe throughout my entire stay, despite how remote the location is. I'd maybe bring protein bars.

I had an amazing time at the host. I learned so much about turtle conservation while being surrounded by amazing human beings. I was there only for a week, but I highly recommend staying longer to really experience all the wonders of this fairly hard but satisfying work. I also had the chance to practice speaking Spanish with the locals, which was really amazing!! Thank you to all the LAST team!!!

My stay with LAST was amazing, it helped me fulfill a childhood dream of working with the host and gave me a taste of what marine biologists do! I would reccomend if you're even considering this to do it!

This was a very special and unforgettable experience. I met amazing people from all over the world, and together we helped protect the host. I learned a lot about the host turtle conservation, saw baby the host hatch, and even witnessed large the host coming ashore at night. These moments were truly incredible. The living conditions were quite challenging, and for me, one week was enough to fully experience the project. Overall, I'm very grateful for this opportunity and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in wildlife conservation.
