The Experience

We’re Sarah & Grant, an Australian couple living in a small town in Kakheti, Georgia. We’re slowly transforming our home, marini (wine cellar), land, and small vineyard into something special — and we need a hand with the more practical side of things. This profile is for those who enjoy hands-on, physical work: think DIY projects, small builds, general repairs, and creative problem solving.

a lovely place to learn practical skills, immerse yourself in local culture and understand georgian wines. Sarah and Grant are great hosts and made such a great effort to make me feel welcome and at home. there was a great communal feel to the experience and i really enjoy eating together each night. thanks again.

It was our first volunteering experience. Sarah and Grant are lovely! They have a lot of knowledge about many different topics, and they're always happy to share it with everyone. The other volunteers are amazing, we felt like a team. From the moment you arrive, you feel like part of a family. Ninja and the other cats made our stay more special, and I'll always remember everyone with love.

An amazing experience at the host! Grant and Sarah are wonderful and very generous hosts. There is always something to do, with plenty of ideas waiting in line. The tasks were very practical, we did carpentry, painting walls, gardening, harvested plums and almonds, and helped with the wine process. The best part was sharing time with them and the other volunteers, having dinner together and talking for hours. Also, practicing English every day was incredible and helped us to improve a lot. Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and great memories... Highly recommended!

I definitely recommend this place for the experience; it is a great spot to get to know Georgian culture and to meet and spend time with people from various backgrounds. They were very understanding, and things were generally straightforward and easy to grasp. However, I stayed for two weeks, and in my opinion, that wasn't enough; it is an ideal place to spend a longer period of time.
