I stayed here for about one month and had a truly wonderful time. The people are incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the place itself is beautiful. I had a nice room and felt comfortable and well cared for from the start. My wishes and needs were always respected. The conversations with other guests were enriching and special. I highly recommend this host to anyone looking for structured working hours, a respectful environment, and the opportunity to practice Spanish. Mutual respect is very important here, which I really appreciated. I wish you a lovely stay.

Hi Pedro, thanks for the opportunity. Unfortunately it wasn’t with you; my experience was with Ghizlan. She is incredible, very charismatic, caring, and supportive. I learned from her culture. I had some amazing teamwork experiences, and I hope I have met your expectations. I also managed to be with a volunteer; it was a bit short, but we managed to strengthen our bond and cross cultures. I’m leaving with a wonderful experience. And thanks to this team. A hug

Overall, the experience is good; it all depends on how much you want to work and you have to clarify things beforehand. First, through worldpackers, no one told us about volunteering, we had to ask in the chat. Also, when we arrived, they put us to work but no one explained anything about routines or meals. It was never clarified that they have several departments in the host, therefore when it comes to cleaning, you have to clean those as well. They moved us from the assigned room twice, to another place, notifying us during the day. And it also bothered us that we asked questions in the chat.

Pedro replied

Hello Camila, on the first day you were given a document with the schedules and duties. The meals are indicated in the Wordpackers proposal. Perhaps you did not read it. Our staff has always cared about your well-being. I must inform you that your attitude toward the guests during your stay was not at all pleasant, and not at all cooperative. You even moved the trip forward without prior notice, and from the very first day you wanted to change things.

The hostel in Martos is comfortable and the facilities are fine, but the experience was not entirely positive. At first there was some disorganization, since it wasn't clear who was in charge or how the schedules worked. In addition, the person in charge showed little patience and kindness, and gloves are not provided to clean the bathrooms, which is unhygienic. With more communication and care, it could be a much more enriching volunteer experience.

Pedro replied

Based on the lack of respect and professionalism towards the staff, the resistance to follow instructions, the failure to fulfill duties and the unnotified abandonment of the position, we cannot recommend Rodrigo for volunteer roles or any position that requires reliability, respect for authority and the ability to separate personal dynamics from professional responsibilities.
The organization concludes that respect for the person in charge is a fundamental requirement.
