My experience on the home farm was absolutely what I needed. Getting out of the city and into nature did wonders for my mind. Shady and Kim were immediately welcoming from the moment they picked me up from the bus station. They consistently offered delicious food that made this stay a bit of a culinary experience as well. The work during my stay was a bit limited due to some rainy conditions, but the manual labor was varied so I never really got bored. I felt very comfortable with the both of them and thoroughly enjoyed our evening movie nights. Expect funky convos as well!

At the home the hosts Shady and Kim were open minded and helped me grow in not only my skills but also as a person. The location was very rural, but the more time I spent there the more beautiful I found it and the more I appreciated its humble pace, and there were some nice hikes within walking distance. Shady was very welcoming and kind, but he often is gone for his work and I worked mainly with Kim (which was not an issue), and Kim was also welcoming, and he was who I primarily worked with. He could be quite honest and blunt in moments, but the feedback is what helped me learn so much.

Well.. what can I say about my first volunteering experience.
I learned a lot in Los ricones, the work can sometimes be hard but never at a level outside the normal. (I wouldn't recommend it if you have any bodily injury, although I arrived with one and it disappeared in a few days)
The couple is an amazing host and in minutes you feel at home.
They're funny; they make you think about the way you live, because we could say that they themselves live in a different way from ordinary society.
The food is mouth-watering, so good that I would suggest taking the recipes down on paper so you don't forget.
An experience I would recommend 5 🌟
