The Experience

We are a Franco-Mexican couple living in this space in the middle of the montane cloud forest, working for the development of our agroecological ranch (garden, edible forests, Milpa, trout... We offer spa-like therapies, meals, workshops, temazcal... We love cooking and also experimenting with what the land provides, as well as inventing alternatives for food preservation. We love AcroYoga.

Renne went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed while I was here. She got me a bike, provided delicious meals that acomidated my diet, and help me get my phone fixed when it got water damage. We also went on lots of outings. Everyday was different with different tasks but I still had plenty of time to explore. I had my own room as only one other person was staying here at the time. Renne was very welcoming and fun, Chris taught me all about the sustainable garden they are creating. Mada helped me practice Spanish and showed me the town. I am grateful for all of them.

Beautiful project! From this experience I take away many lessons about the reality of bio-construction, the gardens, the trout, and life in the mountains! The work is variable and depends on the day, but in general it involves watering the garden, organizing the construction area, feeding the trout, and simple domestic chores. René is a sweetheart and a great example <3 thank you

Wonderful experience. In the project I found a little piece of home and jobs that allowed me to start developing skills I didn't know I had. I greatly enjoyed the company, the sense of community, laughter, commitment, delicious food, and the closeness of people.

The project led by Selene and Cris is a demonstration of what love and commitment to an idea and a more sustainable future can make possible; it showed me a life alternative that is much more respectful of the environment. Arriving at Rancho Renacer is a breath of fresh air where free creativity and proposals are taken into account. It was a very pleasant experience that undoubtedly changes you completely.
