This volunteering was my first on worldpackers and I surely recommend it! Carmen is a helpful and welcoming person, was really flexible with the shifts, as well as with the day off. Work was easy and I had a lot of free time during which I was able to explore many beautiful beaches and the city. Hostel is good located, the area around is calmer and you can have more local experience. To be able to meet more travelers I recommend coming during the peak season.

Filip was undoubtedly a valuable asset to the hostel's smooth operation. He learns easily, is methodical in tasks and has a lot of initiative.
Unfortunately, due to personal problems I couldn't make a complete evaluation of Filip, but I could not fail to recommend Filip, as it was indeed without a doubt a very positive experience hosting him at the hostel.

That was my first experience as a volunteer and I had a wonderful time and felt very comfortable! The tasks are totally fine and the working hours can be flexible. Carmen, the owner, is very attentive and strives to create a pleasant atmosphere! The place is a bit quieter, but offers beautiful beaches. I can highly recommend this position to anyone!

Carmen is such a lovely person and welcomed me very warmly.
The hostel is charming, well organized, and always clean.
The activities are relaxed (help with cleaning and keeping it up, and assisting guests with check-in and other issues they may need).
The beaches of the Algarve are beautiful, and there’s time to explore the ones in Portimão and nearby towns (like Lagos, Albufeira, etc.).
Carmen is very flexible with the hours and very easy to be around and to work with. I highly recommend her and would definitely come back!

The hostel experience was incredible, Carmen is an exemplary host. The activities are well defined, and time is respected. Since I came in the summer, and the sun stays until 9 PM, it's very nice to enjoy the day and also work. The facilities are great, and the vibe of the hostel is great. It was my first hostel experience, and I felt at home and safe. The location is great for exploring beaches, and it's close to the bus station and the train station.

It was an amazing experience! Carmen is a very dear person and an exceptional host. She welcomes everyone with a lot of warmth, is always willing to help, and makes the environment light and welcoming. I felt very good throughout the volunteering and I am very grateful for everything I lived and learned. I would recommend this experience with my eyes closed! 💙
