Chevaux de Colombettes

Our farm is a great fit for true horse lovers. If you’re an accomplished rider, comfortable around horses, and genuinely know how to handle them—including the occasional “spicy” moment—you’ll feel right at home here. This is a working environment with real animals and real situations, so confidence, calmness, and common sense matter.

Why choose our place?

You’re not just visiting a farm—you’re joining a project. We value people who are hands-on, reliable, and enjoy being involved rather than standing on the sidelines. If you like contributing, learning, and being part of something meaningful, this place makes sense.

We work together as much as possible and keep things straightforward. The atmosphere is friendly, open-minded, and collaborative. Think less “staff hierarchy” and more “working together like friends who take a project seriously.” We appreciate people who are well-rounded, motivated, and not afraid of real work.

et's get back to the facts:

You arrived Saturday at 22h00. Sylvia was already sleeping because she was leaving Sunday at 8h00 (800 km), and dinner was waiting for you.

For your 1st day, Sunday, you decided to stay in your room and showed up only at 10h30 (no jet lag, you had been in France for weeks).

And already, you spent all day on your phone/tablet checking the stock market or whatever other personal stuff.

Monday, you showed up at 8h00 and worked a total of 3 hours the entire day, while

This was my first experience, and I can say that it was incredible. A big thank you to Jérôme and Sylvia, who placed their trust in me and welcomed me as a member of the family. We chose our schedules (for me, it was in the morning to work with the farm as long as it wasn't too hot) and we were autonomous in organizing our days. This experience allowed me to grow even closer to my passion and to share my daily life with beautiful animals, all more adorable than the next.

Wow. I'm coming out of a month of total disconnection from this crazy world we live in. Sylvia and Jérôme treated me in the best possible way. I couldn't have dreamed of better to enjoy this break I needed in my life to reconnect with myself. Between lemonades and flawless meals and participatory tasks that are playful, honest, enriching and useful, I am more than happy with this life pause with them. Thanks again for everything, don't change a thing! See you soon!

Sylvia and Jérôme are wonderful hosts, all the animals in their care are happy, friendly, healthy and well fed; I felt equally well taken care of on their property. They are very fair and reasonable about the work, and made me feel quickly respected and at home. I was never hungry never uncomfortable, they generously answered all my questions about the French language. I had a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to others who are comfortable and love to be around horses and are used to the work associated with their care, and want to have a calm and quiet french experience.
