Finca Hrl Patrimonio Arico
This project is for Nature Lovers, for the Landscape and for Light. In a simple and familiar place with spacious areas and wide views of the mountains and the sea.
A place mimicking the landscape with the cream color of the Jable and Espartano due to its simplicity in the style of the servants' rooms of the landowners of past centuries.
This is a Centenary Farm with roots even pre-Hispanic, so we must be very careful with everything that is being done, especially water and electricity installations. In that era there were no bathrooms as independent rooms nor were there sewage canals, so the principles of Permaculture help to solve all these inconveniences in the form of Sustainable Development within the incomparable framework of Historic Heritage and we are very proud of it.
A place where Ecological Agriculture comes hand in hand with Permaculture and the restoration of Historic Heritage is a fundamental objective. A place that we are slowly discovering and where there are tasks for everyone.
This is a unique Farm in the south of Tenerife (Arico), a dream of almost 30 hectares surrounded by as many similar ones that form a paradisiacal environment for lovers of outdoor life and that has a direct walking route to Teide National Park.
We are starting new irrigation plantations next to the old dryland ones, we carry out ecological interventions in the surroundings, ravines included, and rebuild many singular sites transforming the existing places to make them more comfortable without losing their historical essence and rural charm.
AT FINCA HRL PATRIMONIO ARICO we are publishing some videos of the project activities: https://t.me/+adhS_PfmgPE0YmY0
P.S. Due to the difficulty of traveling to the Canary Islands for many volunteers we are offering some financial help if necessary since we often hire external staff punctually. Find out if this is your case.
Hello friends, my name is Enrique and although I come from the health world, I love Nature, the Countryside and the Sea, perhaps because of that I have always been interested in Alternative Medicines, Yoga and Spirituality.
A few months ago I found this immense farm abandoned for decades and partially invaded by a pine forest. It was my dream and I decided to invest all my effort in its complicated reconstruction.
I have been living for several years on a Permaculture farm in the north of the island that hosts volunteers, and I am used to dealing with them and I like exchanging ideas and projects, so I decided to implement this form of collaboration since this project is nonprofit.
I know many of the customs of the Volunteers and here they will be listened to and have time to enjoy the incredible natural surroundings of the farm as well as be able to visit the rest of the island if they wish. They will also learn about the medicinal uses of the different plants that grow in the region and about the History of this place.
I count on the help of Assistants and Permaculturists and there is a professional team working on the reconstruction of the Heritage in an intermittent way. They are also starting to share some singular places with a garden for its recovery. I think volunteers will enjoy helping with the diverse tasks in a place as special as this Jable farm which has several traditional historical elements: Las Eras, the Casita del Medianero, several Cave Rooms, Jameos, Stone Oven and even ancient Guanche caves.
There is a camping area for volunteers but everyone prefers the caves which are natural Bioclimatic spaces.
This project is the reconstruction of an Ancient Farm; therefore there is no water or electricity in all the stays, we have open and closed shared showers and a Bath Shop. We also use shared Dry Toilet.
Our priority is ecological agriculture so that it can feed our Project with quality and up to 50% of the vegetables consumed come from our orchards.
The food we prepare is mainly Local Typical, simple, balanced and rich but we adapt to the needs of everyone if they inform us beforehand. There is a regulation for the protection of the Installations and of the Historic Heritage that we all must comply with and drugs or alcohol are not allowed, so volunteers who knowingly breach the rules will be asked to leave the project.
We count on you all for this incredible project in an Unforgettable Space.
We look forward to seeing you!! :)
