LunAhumada

We provide three homemade meals a day based on vegetables, grains, legumes, dairy products, fresh breads, cheeses and seasonal ingredients from our farm and local producers.
At LunAhumada, you experience the true spirit of Colombia. It's a place where cultural and knowledge exchange is rich, authentic, and grounded in deep respect for nature. The environment is peaceful and captivating, perfect for reconnecting with yourself while spending time with the farm animals, who are delightful hosts in their own right.

It also hosts a social and ecological initiative called “LunAhumada Organic Food Factory”, where anyone is welcome to learn how to grow organic food in small spaces. In return, they are free to take home as much fresh food as they wish.

Here, our volunteers can learn how to grow organic food in vertical gardens, cook traditional Colombian dishes, and make artisanal cheeses inspired by French, Colombian, and Italian traditions... And of course, they are also welcome to share their own knowledge and teach us many wonderful things in return.

The experience went beyond my expectations! Marlyn is very caring and attentive to the needs of every volunteer. She kindly shares all of her know-how about her farm!

Marlyn replied

Ádélaîde: Your company was extraordinary. Your spontaneous laughter brightened the days, and the pancake surprises at breakfast... Yum, yum, yum. (I saw that you sent me the recipe, thank you). I’m really sorry I didn’t write an exclusive review; I had legal matters to attend to (regarding the illegal drone fumigation they did to us when you were here), but publicly I want to say here that you are a sweet, charming, and loyal person. I send you lots of kisses and hugs, and I hope to see you again soon.

It was my first volunteering experience, and a wonderful one! Marlyn is a wonderful and adorable woman; I felt right at home. She always has plenty of interesting stories to tell, is always in a good mood, knows how to motivate the team and take care of the volunteers. At the farm you eat well, learn a lot, while enjoying a calm outdoor environment on the hills above Bogota.

I had the most incredible week at the farm! Marlyn instantly made me feel right at home, and hosted me and the other 3 volunteers that week with much love. The volunteer work is very flexible, and you are able to choose to help on tasks that best suit your interests, at the time of day/week that suits. There is lots to do on the farm (I helped out with DIY/repairs), so you will never be short of things to help Marlyn out with. The food is delicious, with milk/yoghurt/cheese made fresh on the farm, and other organic vegetarian food sourced from local markets. I'll be back for sure!

I planned to stay for only 2 weeks but had to extend one week! I loved my experiance, working on the farm with Marlyn and other volenteers from all over. The work was a mixture of cooking, working with the animals and helping with improving spaces. There are many different tasks to do. I loved the mix of it all and connecting with all the people. Marlyn is a lovely host, she really cares for all her volenteers, the animals, cooks amazing food and is a great storyteller!! Thank you so much :)

I really liked this experience, due to personal circumstances I had to end it earlier than planned, but I enjoyed all my days at the farm 🫶🏻
