My first volunteer experience couldn't have been better! Monge is a very attentive host, always ready to teach something and help with whatever is needed. We experienced an arts and decoration immersion; it was a very enriching exchange. In addition to everything, he and Renata introduced me to local culture in various ways; we visited a few bars, waterfalls, and walked around the city. I plan to return soon!

Great experience! São João del Rei is a wonderful city and my time with the host was incredible. Monge is a very knowledgeable, helpful guy and, moreover, patient, especially with me, who am a caboclo and was having my first volunteering experience. I hope to come back here many times!

MONGE is a cultured person... a good host... welcoming... a calm environment... full of life, culture, music and good conversation... this guy is a dinosaur when it comes to local culture... I recommend it to anyone who wants to connect with the culture around them... and connect to a life with a good outlook... it's worth getting to know the host.

We had significant misunderstandings regarding what was expected from the position. Upon arrival, I slept on a mattress on the floor, in the corner of a completely disorganized room with no preparation to receive a volunteer, which was extremely uncomfortable. The next day, I had to wait for hours to be able to speak with the host. Additionally, the breakfast mentioned was not offered, and I had to cover this expense out of my own pocket. The place needs renovations and a minimal adequate structure to host volunteers. With these improvements, the experience could be positive.

There were misunderstandings: you arrived more than three hours late and I already had another commitment, as it was my first outing after an accident. Then I woke up late and failed to accompany you. The house is my gallery, dating from 1707, today a cultural center with exhibitions and workshops. The other house, modern, houses community projects.
