RAD Hostel

Colorado Springs is the perfect location for experiencing the Pikes Peak region of the Rocky Mountains. Our location is in the city, but we're literally minutes from nature and some of the best hiking, biking, and rock climbing in the state. Garden of the Gods is less than 15 min from us and the base of Pikes Peak is only a 20 min drive. So many trails! We offer engaging activities- some onsite to encourage making new friends and some in the city or on the trail to connect guests and staff with the best the area has to offer. As much as we would love to explore and play all day, we do have a job to do and because we strive to give our guests a RAD experience, we work hard as a team and we get it done. We want our volunteers to leave with great memories of Colorado so we encourage a balance of work, adventure, and relaxation.

I am a high energy person who loves welcoming new guests and staff into our hostel. My love of everything Colorado means I enjoy connecting people to all of the best recreational and cultural activities in the area. Our team is super-friendly, fun, adventurous, hard- working, welcoming, and respectful. We love to laugh and have a good time. We're like a big family (from all over the world) so volunteers can expect to be treated like a brother or sister, but without the teasing... okay maybe a little teasing. We can't wait to meet you and show you around!

I had an amazing experience. I loved spending time with the other volunteers. The hours allowed me to work on my own projects and gave me plenty of time to explore. Erin took us all out a few times and was always making sure we felt welcomed and were having a great time. Joshua, the manager, was also very welcoming and patient explaining the tasks. I felt at home and will miss all the friends I made.

I had such a wonderful time here! I got along very well with everyone! The volunteers that I met here were extremely fun to be around. Joshua and Erin were very patient with me, I could ask them anything! Erin is very kind and generous and really listens to us. It really felt like a team here! Colorado Springs is very good for hiking and for nature lovers. There is a lot of weird people who live in Colorado Springs. Housekeeping could be very overwhelming some days for me since we were slow on volunteers in the winter. I really enjoyed my stay here and learned a lot! Thank you very much!

I really enjoyed my time at RAD Hostel. The environment caters to community and gives family vibes! Erin works hard to make sure that her volunteers feel welcomed & included. The accommodations are clean and inviting - big open kitchen for cooking and spacious comfy beds. The work is pretty laidback and easy to understand. I would give 4 out 5 for safety as a solo female traveler, and 5 out of 5 for the work experience. Overall, I recommend to the nature lovers, avid hikers, and adventure seekers.

First experience doing a work exchange and it was incredible, I felt like home in RAD Hostel. Thanks to Erin for gave me the opportunity to be there and for her positive energy, always with a smile in her face. Special mention to Joshua because his patience and for training me really well, he is the manager that everyone would like to have. I had luck to met wonderful staff members in my stay there alsoTalking about the ubication of the Hostel you will have plenty of options to walk around and visit parks or mountains to hike. Now one part of my heart it’s in RAD Hostel, thanks!🫶🏼

This was my first volunteering and it couldn't have been better, Erin and Joshua are very friendly, they explain and help with tasks that are not difficult at all, the hostel is very cozy, the bus passes outside the hostel so in general it is quite easy to get to the shops and supermarkets, the hostel feels like a home, there are activities almost every day where you share with the guests and the other volunteers and have a great time, I definitely recommend the RAD hostel and I hope to return one day c:
