Saintlo is more than a hostel; it's a lively meeting point between locals and people arriving from all over the world. Our mission is taken seriously: to create authentic connections between travelers and locals, and to showcase the Quebec territory in all its forms.
By joining our team of volunteers, you're not just here to lend a hand; you become a central part of this energy.
You will be there during the traveler's first encounters with their new friendships and with the city they discover for the first time.
The hostel is large: 27 private rooms, 23 dormitories, up to 200 people under one roof, but the atmosphere itself remains intimate and warm. The common spaces are designed so that people really talk to each other. And we host that with free activities every day: bar crawls, thrift store tours, walks on Mount Royal, and more.
Saintlo is the affectionate nickname for Auberges de jeunesse du Saint-Laurent, a non-profit organization and a social-enterprise with hostels in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. For every night spent with us, $1 is donated to the Saintlo Youth Travel Foundation to support youth travel.

Our team is a bit like the reflection of the hostel: multicultural, young and open-minded. We come from different backgrounds, we speak several languages, and that's exactly what makes us strong.
Volunteers are not treated as temporary labor; they are part of the full team. You rarely arrive alone: other volunteers will be there at the same time as you, which quickly creates a sense of community. We gather regularly, and each month we organize an activity all together.
