The Experience

We run a busy friendly equine training and livery yard based in the beautiful Shropshire hills. We require someone to muck in and muck out 😀 A huge variety of horses from serious competition horses who show jump, event and do pure dressage to youngsters and happy hackers. We do require a little experience but are happy to teach anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and expertise.

Couldn't have asked for a better 1st experience. Terri and Andy immediately made me feel welcome. Spending time with the cats, dogs, and horses was genuinely healing. The work consists of a longer stint in the morning, followed by a short one in the afternoon, leaving plenty of time inbetween for study/work/countryside walks. You'll mainly focus on feeds and field/stable maintenance but there's plenty of opportunity for handling and grooming the horses too. Wonderful dinners…there's always an almost dangerous amount of cake! I left with a full heart and fuller stomach.

My volunteering experience at the home was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Terri and Andi are kind, thoughtful, and welcoming, and they truly deliver everything they promise in terms of the work, accommodation, and meals. The work mainly involves feeding and watering the horses and cleaning the fields and stables. They are always happy to teach and explain things, so I found the work very enjoyable and easy to settle into. Overall, it was truly an amazing experience. I felt at home from the beginning and would love to come back one day.

My stay at the home was truly unforgettable. From the very first day, Terri, Andy and the whole family made me feel welcome and right at home. Working with the horses was a very rewarding experience, and I loved that every day gave me the chance to learn something new. The work was very enjoyable, and the setting was beautiful and I'll always be grateful for everyone's kindness and patience, including Joey and Katy. I'd recommend this experience without hesitation to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable volunteering opportunity.

My time at the home was so lovely! It was my first time working so closely with horses, and i would do it again in a heartbeat. The work itself personally felt very rewarding while also being fun. Some days are more physically demanding than others, but nothing too strenuous. The horses on the farm are so special, and i’ll miss them dearly. Special thanks to Terri, Andy, and the rest of the fam (dogs n cats included) for making my stay feel homey. And a special thanks to Katie & Joy for being so welcoming and empowering with their kindness and education along the way💛🐎

My experience at the home was the best of my five trips to Montaigne, England. Terri and Andy made me feel instantly welcome. I felt very comfortable there, and they became like a second home to me. The work is a lot of fun. I can highly recommend this experience! It's truly wonderful.!
