For my first solo trip as well as my first accommodation on Worldpackers, Chuck made me feel welcome to be of help to the farm. I had a very comfortable stay and learned a lot about organic farming and sustainability. Chuck provided me with lots of help with transportation, groceries, and learning how to do farm work. I would highly recommend the farm to travellers and would love to come back!

It was great to experience the country side of Japan for two weeks. Chuck is very keen to tell you his knowledge about farming and about what to do in the area. I had a wonderful experience staying at the farm!

The traditional Japanese house is in fact an Akiya, an old abandoned house. The tatami gathered dust and house mat mites throughout the years. Some spots are stained. Futons are stained and were visibly not cleaned. The fridge was incredibly dirty and I had to clean it. Walls are made of very thin wood, you could see the outside from some cracks. A room had a wall with teared-off wall-paper. Washroom in the garden, visibly not cleaned. Very far away from anything. Buying food is a one day trip with busses. You will be put to work right after your arrival so you don't notice or raise concerns.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you were uncomfortable and that our house did not live up to your expectations. Our property is a traditional, historic house, and the separate outbuilding bathroom is part of its rustic design. Cleanliness is very important to us, and we are addressing your comments. Over the last 3 years, we have hosted more than 40 volunteers, 40 Japanese families, and 20 tourists without receiving these complaints. I strive to improve the situation for everyone.
