The Experience

I live on a property made up of wooden chalets, nestled in the heart of the Fontainebleau Forest, near the world-renowned bouldering blocks. The place is also only 45 minutes from Paris by train 🚆. Here, we live as close as possible to nature and animals, in a peaceful and rejuvenating setting.

I stayed with Sandra for three weeks. She is a kind person with an inspiring vision. The working hours were clearly communicated and the large garden offers plenty of space to relax; the surroundings are ideal for reconnecting with nature. Getting to Paris is a bit tricky due to the infrequent public transport services. It’s a very quiet area, but anyone who enjoys nature and climbing will enjoy the area.

Sandra is super accommodating and an amazing host! Hours were communicated and kept to, tasks were as described. Sandra introduced me to a couple locals who also climbed and showed me around the forest as well as suggesting a few places she thought I might like (which I did! )

Superb experience in the lodge 🌿💛 The place: truly special by being surrounded by the most magic forest, deeply connected with the climbing community and history and outdoor life. There's always something happening even being a little town. Sandra is the pépite 💎 of it all, the heart and soul of the house and a very welcoming host who has always friends and family around, making you feel immersed in the French culture of sharing quality time together. I gained so much confidence in my French thanks to Sandra's patience. The work: our missions were enjoyable, dynamic and varied 🎨🔨🪏🧹 Merci 🌳💛

Such a great experience! I originally came for a month and extended my stay for 10 more days. Sandra is so caring and easygoing, making every day very relaxed. She also cooked a lot of different meals, which were all really good. The work was always light and straightforward, leaving plenty of time to explore nearby places. I'm so grateful for this opportunity, and I highly recommend staying there!

The experience is incredible for connecting with nature. Sandra is a very kind person, and she's always available to chat about life and share her French culture. She also cooks really well :P.
Being here is amazing, and there is always something to do. She rents out cabins, and the idea is to help her collect firewood, clean, paint, repair, and do other things to keep the house and cabins livable and clean.
She also has two beautiful cats that are so adorable and kind to people. Another thing I really liked is that you can connect with people from around the world and share experiences.
