Jodi and family were exceptionally welcoming and kind. They were quick to offer rides, meals, and activities. It felt like they welcomed us into their family during our stay.

The work was very complimentary to our skills working outdoors and in the kitchen. I appreciated the time to watch the local birdlife at the pond. It was also a joy to sit down with the family after cooking a meal to connect and share stories.

I recommend this experience for travelers who need a soft place to land for a while and crave a taste of home and kindness.

Our stay with the Fokkens family was truly a wonderful experience. They're a warm, generous family who made a genuine effort to make us feel comfortable. They offered us rides to local attractions and provided bikes. Jodi asked what we felt comfortable doing. We walked their dog Maudie, mowed lawns, weed-whipped, burned piles, and used our chainsaw experience to cut stumps and trees. We also cooked four dinners, ate together and played games. The accommodation is a small but cozy caravan with a sheltered outdoor kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. Highly recommend this Worldpackers to anyone.

If you're looking for an experience surrounded by gorgeous nature and wildlife with kind hosts who love sharing about Philip Island, this is for you. I had a short but amazing stay with Jodi and her family, and I highly recommend the experience. Jodi is a clear communicator from the beginning and I felt comfortable and welcomed my entire stay. While I had never done a few tasks before (mowing, painting), Jodi made sure I had everything to excel (tools, how to use them, and tips). Jodi goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is amazing (island tour, comfy caravan, & more). Thank you! :)

I had an absolutely wonderful time in Philip Island with Jodi, Ben and their family (especially Maudie, their dog!). The accommodations were very clean, comfortable, and private, with super easy access into town. Jodi made sure that the work was manageable, and she definitely cares that the work is something that the volunteer WANTS to do. They really made me feel like family, and I loved cooking for them! On top of it all, Jodi ensured that I got the whole Philip Island experience by giving me an island tour and taking me to see the Penguins. I'd recommend this stay for anyone!

I had a great experience with this Worldpackers host. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, taking the time to show me around and making sure I felt comfortable. They shared loads of helpful information about the island and were genuinely invested in me having a good time while I was there. It really made my stay enjoyable and memorable — I'd highly recommend this host to other travellers. Thank you for a great 4 days, only shame is I couldn't stay longer.
