I can wholeheartedly recommend volunteering at this hostel to anyone. From the very beginning, I felt incredibly welcome and at home. Daniel and the other volunteers make you feel like you’re part of a family, which is why I ended up not wanting to leave at all. I stayed for three months and only left because my visa for Mexico was expiring. We spent a lot of our free time together, doing different activities and exploring the city. The work at the hostel is enjoyable and well-balanced, and there is still plenty of free time to explore the city and enjoy everything it has to offer.

Daniel is genuinely such a warm and inviting person it was great to volunteer for him. La Cebia is in a wonderful part of the city and close to Roma Sur and Condesa which are coveted areas to hang out and explore. The hostel is definitely on the small side so not a huge social scene but the people I did meet were super lovely. Many of the volunteers spoke exclusively Spanish so it would definitely be a benefit to have strong Spanish skills here to integrate with everyone.

The hostel has such a homey feel and I felt really welcomed and integrated. The rooms and facilities are nice and the living area and kitchen are both really good. The work is all very reasonable and there are a nice variety of shifts. Dani is a very generous host and cares a lot about the hostel. The neighbourhood is really cute and feels very safe which is nice as a young woman. I have loved my time at La Ceiba! Mil gracias
