I had a lovely time at the project with Mirella, Pascal, their two super intelligent daughters and their amazing friends!! Tasks were a balance of cleaning, event preparation and manual labor, planting trees and tending to their land. Mirella and Pascal cooked delicious meals and went out of their way to introduce us to brazillian snacks! Maquiné is a beautiful place, with lots of opportunities to learn about medicinal plants and organic farming, permaculture local culture and music. For an enhanced experience, come with some knowledge of Portuguese! Thanks again for the lovely time :) x

I had a really great time at the project. The place is beautiful, especially the nature around Maquine, with waterfalls, beaches and lots of amazing scenery. The work varies depending on what is needed, from helping with events, cleaning, gardening, clearing areas, helping with road construction or the kids. But what makes this place truly special are the people. Pascal and Mirella are wonderful hosts with two lovely children, and everyone in the community is incredibly kind and welcoming. If you're looking for beautiful Brazilian nature and great people, I can definitely recommend volunteering!

Working alongside Mirella and Pascal was nothing short of amazing- you will be living on property with the family who make you feel very comfortable and you learn so much about the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, sustainability, permaculture practices, their culture& arts center, and more. The job is a blend of physical labor and prepping day-to-day jobs on the property. They speak multiple languages but I asked for primarily Portuguese to help improve and the entire family was more than patient! If you love nature, family and learning- this is the perfect place for you:) Muito obrigada familia!

Passei 1 semana nesse lugar encantado, Maquiné é lindo e o Espaço o projeto incrÃvel, compartilhei meu tempo com Pascal e Mirela e suas 2 lindas e criativas filhas e mais 2 voluntárias gringas aonde pude falar e praticar meu inglês. Tive contato com a permacultura, com a comunidade, a Farmacinha que tem.meu coração, com as montanhas e cachoeiras. Indico de olhos fechados esse voluntariado e também a cidade de Maquine. Gratidão e vida longa a essa comunidade.
