This was my second time visit. I felt home and welcoming. For new visitors I would suggest talking about your expectations and what you would love to learn.. Eg. Types of the Center, chants etc. The tasks are flexible from gardening to small day to day activities. You would love the food, especially made by Beam.

If you are looking for a place where you can experience Buddhism, self-development and general learning about the world then you have found it. Between participating in local rituals an making Pad Thai and swimming in the lake there is plenty of time to explore and learn on your own. The work is largely gardening (which is the Center in itself), the work is not hard and you don't work much at all. The conversations with punya were some of the most educational and good conversations of my life. All the people at the Center are amazing and inviting people and it really feels like home

We had a great experience overall! Everyone welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. They showed us around, took us to amazing local markets and temples and introduced us to plenty of delicious local food. It might have been due to the season during which we visited the center, but there wasn't much work for us to do. While we helped out with small tasks every day, it wasn't quite what we expected in terms of working 4 hours a day. On the bright side, this allowed us to slow down, practise taking time to rest and enjoy the present moment. Thank you so much for having us!

Pt. 2 In the morning we were asked to be ready at 5:30 am but always waited until 6:00-6:30. There was some guidance on the Center, but most of the time we practiced on our own. Our schedule felt unclear and poorly organized. After breakfast, there is some free time, followed by gardening/cleaning. Most of our time was spent doing physical labor and we didn't feel we were learning as much as we had hoped. Volunteers are asked to pay for each day of their stay. However, I think the experience could be insightful, especially if there are other volunteers to share the experience with.

Pt. 1 We expected to volunteer together with other people, but when we arrived, we were the only volunteers. Only the admin and Punya Panya spoke English, so most of the time I could only communicate with my friend, who came with me. The work is physically demanding and done in very hot weather. The accommodation was okay. We had a private room with our own bathroom and air conditioning. We are very grateful to the admin and the monks. Even when there were misunderstandings, the admin was very patient. A special mention to Ettie, he is very sweet and brought a lot of warmth to the experience.
