The Experience

Volunteers help welcome guests by assisting with check-ins and check-outs, cleaning rooms, and helping keep the house organized and comfortable. Shifts vary between morning, afternoon, and evening, depending on the team and occupancy. In exchange, volunteers receive support with food expenses and local tips about tours, events, and activities happening around the city. ✨🌊☀️🏡

My stay was great... the place has a very good location, close to the beach and near the center. The owners helped me with some basic groceries.
Ponts to improve: I think it's necessary to have at least one fixed employee, so that the volunteers can be guided by him. The tasks and the schedules are not well organized, as there are days when you have nothing to do and other days when you need to tidy up 5 rooms in your shift, I believe that at check-in and check-out times there should always be two people. I also think there should be a computer or a phone at the reception. Thanks ✨

There are days with more work than others, because the day with the most checkouts is automatically the day with more work, therefore try to rotate the shifts so that no one feels disadvantaged. Regarding having a fixed employee, I appreciate the tip and I am getting ready for that, as I miss having a permanent person at the reception. As for the phone and computer, I don't see a need since our communication flows well via WhatsApp. I appreciate the observations.

Central location, lodging not very comfortable since there is no space to place your belongings (backpacks). The tasks are easy, but they don’t provide the necessary tools to carry them out properly (you have to improvise). Security: a guest’s phone was stolen inside the room, and there has been no response yet regarding the presence of cameras throughout the hostel.

Cassia is a high-spirited, very welcoming person, and makes you feel at ease, of course she expects you to contribute your part, she doesn't stay the whole day, but every day she visits, and monitors via cameras; there are 4 volunteers taking turns with the tasks. The location is excellent, it's close to everything, on the Pajuçara waterfront; the facilities are a bit closed with no open areas but the volunteers' room has air conditioning and an inside bathroom, the hostel is clean and safe, mattresses and sheets are all new. And you receive an average food allowance of 50.00 for food, I recommend. Regards. Cassia and FB.
