The Experience

We are an innovative Carioca venture. Here runs a hostel and a yoga & meditation studio in the heart of downtown Rio de Janeiro! It opened in 02/2020 with a lean team. The capacity is 22 guests in shared rooms and 4 in two private rooms. The volunteer will take over reception alone in the early afternoon or evening. They will do check-in and check-out. They will oversee beverage sales. They will attend to guests with kindness. Maintenance cleaning.

My stay in the hostel was really beautiful. It's a super chill place and the work is almost non existent (mostly just check ins and opening the door). The volunteer room isn't the best but it was okay for my time there, we also had air conditioning! Marcus, the owner, is a really good person, i felt really welcomed there. The replaced_content:

Sharon, my apologies. I missed the deadline to perform an evaluation for you here.

You are a 10 out of 10 person. Polite, attentive, friendly, intelligent and cheerful. Dedicated to contributing to a good environment. You contributed seriously to the routine and to the quality of Sangha Urbana's service.

I wish you all the best in whatever lies ahead.

When you return to Rio, there will always be a welcoming place for you here.

The hostel Is a very special place to stay, of which I really appreciated the relaxed vibe, the eco-friendly ethic and awareness that it promotes! The owner Marcus is a very dedicated entrepreneur, very kind, helpful and always present in case of needs. The timetable is perfectly respected and tasks are very easy (I would recommend to be able to speak at least basic Portuguese). The hostel is very attractive for people who wants to explore and enjoy the amazing city of Rio, while staying in a chill place (eg. perfect for digital nomads). Thank you Marcus for the great experience!

As I only worked one day, I don't have much to tell you. But the hostel is well set up, clean, very well decorated and with an innovative concept. I was very well received by the other volunteers and we had an incredible exchange.

My experience at the hostel was very positive. I felt very good and comfortable from the first day. Marcus is a very pleasant, attentive, and easy-to-talk-to person who makes you feel at home from the start. He is also very flexible and respects the schedules and days off that were agreed. The environment is calm and it was a great opportunity to learn, meet new people, and live a different experience in Rio. I am very grateful for this experience and I highly recommend volunteering at the hostel.
